i didn’t take any pictures of the interior of the shop, because that is weird, but it is so wonderousful. it is the closest americatown has to an underground mall shop times, and so to me it is a broad approximation of TOKYO FEELINGS that are pleasant to be having, fetishization though it may imply and is recognized as such. GUYS. SO MANY VIDROGAMES. all ryan north for a minute there, but it is true. there were actual sega saturns for sale. i bought guitaroo man, as i have recently been bequeathed a ps2 by aaron (THANKS). EXCITED TO DEVOUR IT.

well! i thought it was going to be a little tiny game but i think i always think that. the assemblee version of mulder’s totally bogus journey is up. you can download it by clicking here. there are currently four levels to complete, and three rabbits to rescue. i didn’t make any of the assets for this game, per assemblee’s rules. still, i am quite fond of them. i wanted to have the entire limbo world finished by the end of the contest, but i didn’t quite get there. the final version will have eight rabbits, more levels for limbo, more monsters, and an additional underworld that houses the psychic computer. also probably some digging powerups.

ha ha to december 31st. you are the best time for directionless thought thinking times apparently, because you are the day that lazercatz become glog cats again.

it has been fun watching tetris, a real cat, come to terms with the amount of sleeping we expect her to do. it is a little bit of a sad time for me to think of the life she might have dreamed of having – galloping through meadows at twilight or something, fighting evil – but that is not real. i do not know for certain, but i gather she is pretty happy with food and climbing on the couch, watching the fish (that i need to feed, for real), and working on her friendship with scully. the two have made a significant amount of peace since mulder’s death, and that works for me because pets exist to make me happy.

rain city has started to grate on me. it might just be because i haven’t been paid and it is a week past the end of the pay period (CONFIDENTIAL TO CHER: I HAVE ONE DOLLAR DO YOU BELIEVE ME) but also i am just tired of being here. i suspect it is because i am more boring now than i was when i started. it is true guys: i am more boring now. i don’t keep up on Topics of Interest and all i think about is drawing and programming, which are not Fun to Talk About. some of my claims are being tiny spurious right now because i do read books and watch movies, but whatevers.

it was nice to see ray talk about how good rain city can be on chelsea’s facebook. there are two things that are nice about this:

1. it is true that the holidays are not a good time to feel good about the video store.

2. i like watching other people’s lives.

also, max is in town and i will see him tonight, so i need to get out of the groan zone. it’s a good day for it. the air smells like WASHINGTON STATE, meaning it smells like back-to-school, and also moving-away-from-Kansas, and i suppose also like car exhaust mixed with lots of rain. MY FAVORITE SMELL.

a list of things that i am excited about:

- i have a gajillion new books to read. underground AS WELL AS south of the border, west of the sun (murakami), i am a cat (some japanese dude; google is at least four tabs away), swann’s way, lots of things.

- new super mario bros.

- almost up-to-date on ufrecords orders.

- exterior of apartment is a Sad Vacation. interior of apartment, however, is an Exuberant Beginning.

- rice cooker and All That It Entails.

originally, i typed “all that it entrails”, which is gross. tiffany and i got our Fancy Camera back! so i’ll be posting some pictures in a day or so. maybe tonight. LIFE IS PROGRESSING ACCORDINGLY.

quick update. magic planet snack is now 1.4. changes:

fixed the bug where wizard shields would occasionally appear on top of the wizards; default volume is much louder now, and is set properly from the config program; fixed a bug that wouldn’t allow you to enter THXFULNESS mode after beating the game.

i think I’ve got everything, now, with the exception of one graphics glitch that I can’t figure out. full list of changes in the readme file.

work continues on MULDER’S TOTALLY BOGUS RABBIT JOURNEY; mulder can dig, run (after eating cranberries); he gets hungry if he doesn’t eat timothy hay pellets; he may hide if he is still for a second or so.

i also added walls that may be destroyed by digging, for zelda-style secrets. doing the level design now and working on enemies and lost rabbits. again, this will be a small small game, but i’m going to try and make a level / asset editor, in the spirit of assemblee.

quick list of changes:

- lava has been recolored for the final time. the HYPER gauge has been altered to make it easier to read.

- music no longer resets in the middle of the planet, or during HYPER mode. should make for a more cacophonous game.

- numerous bugs have been fixed, involving invincibility, player respawn, tv generation for wizards, planet size selection, and appropriate game ending displays.

- some easter eggs have been added. there are two additional game modes available to crafty players: TEENAGE THXGIVING and HEALTHY TIMES. there might be a reward to astute, patient snackers who are unnaturally thorough in their wizard collection. one of these easter eggs is accessible through a bastardized konami code.

- the high score table and wizard record has been properly reset for new players. RZA shouldn’t dominate any longer on a fresh install. if you want to keep your scores and data, just save the settings.ini file.
